Insurance:
There are a number of psychotherapy insurance panels that I participate
with: Carefirst Blue Cross/BlueShield, Aetna, Magellan, Medicare,
Medicaid of Maryland, APS, Compsych and Kaiser. In addition, I am an EAP
(employee assistance program) provider for Compsych, APS and Magellan
Health Services.
Consult your employer for details.
A growing number of insurance companies will reimburse for acupuncture
treatments. For acupuncture, I only participate with Carefirst Blue
Cross/Blue Shield as a provider. Consult your insurer for the terms of
coverage on your policy.
If I am not a participating provider for your insurance, full payment is
due at the time of each treatment. For out of network benefits, a
receipt will be given to you to submit for insurance reimbursement. All
co-pays are due at the time of treatment. Please consult with your
insurance company prior to your first appointment. It is your
responsibility to bring your co-payment, any authorization required,
deductible and a copy of your insurance card.
Payment methods:
I accept checks and cash.
Confidentiality:
State and federal law, (HIPPA) require patient confidentiality. Records
will not be released without your signed and written consent, unless
otherwise required by law.
Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations must be made no later than 24 hours before treatment.
Initially, a $25.00 cancellation charge will be made. After this,
payment in full will be expected for each missed appointment.
Acupuncture Treatment Suggestions:
To get the most benefit from acupuncture treatments, avoid beverages
with caffeine and alcohol the day of treatment and for at least 24 hours
afterwards. Similarly avoid strenuous exercise before and after
treatments.
Psychotherapy appointments:
All psychotherapy appointments are typically between 45-50 minutes. I
work with individuals, couples, and families. I usually see adults and
teens and children over the age of 13.
